There are 3 Resources on the EOS Blockchain, they are CPUNET and RAM. These resources are what run the EOS network. The way you get access to these resources is through Staking your tokens for CPU and NET or buying RAM on the RAM market

CPU & NET

CPU refers to the data processing power that you can use on EOS network and hence, NET refers to the network bandwith that you are permitted to use. Both resources are measured as your average usage in the past 3 days. The more EOS you are staking, the more resources you are allowed to use.

Stake

  1. Head over to https://bloks.io/wallet/resources/stake
  2. Attach Identity with your wallet
  3. Enter account name into the receiver section.
  4. For stake CPU & NETyou must include the receiver account and quantity you would like to pay.
  5. Finally hit the Stake button

Rent

In the case that you require more resources, you need special resources and ask them to delegate. This has led to some services that offer free CPU in small amounts, and some that offer larger quantities for a fee.

Most popular -  REX https://bloks.io/rex

  1. Head over to https://bloks.io/rex
  2. Attach Identity with your wallet
  3. Open Borrow CPU/NET  tab
  4. Enter account name into Borrow For section.
  5. For Borrow,  you must include the receiver account and quantity you would like to pay.
  6. Finally hit the Borrow  from REX button

RAM Buy/Sell

RAM is the resource that we use to store data on the EOS blockchain and we use EOS tokens to purchase it. Just like the EOS token, its price can fluctuate based on supply & demand. If the demand is high, RAM prices will increase and if the demand is low, prices for RAM would lower, this is governed by the algorithm known as the Bancor Relay.

Currently a minimum of ~3000 bytes of RAM is required to create a new account, although we suggest ~9140 bytes incase you need to perform functions that require RAM so your account has flexibility.

  1. Head over to https://bloks.io/wallet/ram/buy
  2. Attach Identity with your wallet
  3. Enter your account name into buy or sell section.
  4. For Buying RAM you must include the receiver account and quantity you would like to pay for RAM
  5. To Sell RAM you must enter the account you wish to receive EOS for sold RAM and the amount of RAM bytes you wish to sell.
  6. Finally hit the Buy/Sell button
